Two horses, one bell

Storie su cui pensare 12.02.2024 Anonimo Translated by: Jpic-jp.org

At the top of the street where I live, there's a meadow with two horses in it. From a distance, both look like any other horse.

But if you go closer, you'll notice something very surprising.

Look into the eyes of one horse and you will discover that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to put him down, but to give him a comfortable home. It's truly amazing! Moreover, if you stand close by and listen carefully, you'll hear the sound of a bell. Looking around to see where the sound is coming from, you'll find that it's coming from the little horse nearby in the meadow.

A bell is attached to the horse's halter. It lets his blind friend know where the other horse is so that he can follow him. If you stand there and observe the two friends, you'll see that the horse with the bell is always watching the blind one, and that the blind horse listens to the bell and then walks towards his friend in confidence.

Every evening, when the horse with the bell returns to the stable, he stops from time to time and looks back to make sure that his blind friend is not too far away so that he can hear the bell.

Like the owner of these two horses, God does not reject us just because we are not perfect or have problems. He watches over us and even brings other people into our lives to help us when we are in need. Sometimes we are the blind horse, guided by the bell of the people God has brought into our lives. Other times, we are the guiding horse, helping others find their way.

Good friends are like that. You may never see them, but you know they are always there.

Please listen to my bell and let me listen to yours.
